It makes me happy that threads such as this pop up every now and again =). It just goes to show that even after 6 years people still enjoy the product. It's been quite some time since I've played the game with any sort of regularity, but to this day I've appreciated the uniqueness of the product.

This is the best game ever due to the ArenaNet company. No matter what occurs, they always listen to the community. The changes they have made to the game over the years, just to make players happier, are unbelievable. It's been five years and three months for me and I still log in every day.

Perhaps I should have stated originally that I think it's a good thing to criticize almost anything, its how improvements happen. I think my point is more that there are plenty of threads like that (which is okay) and no threads like this one (which is not okay)

Lets continue to criticize ( I sure will), but not forget to show our gratitude from time to time!

Forgive me if I came off as being critical of the critical, for that was not my intent. I just wanted one thread to show support for ANET and this fantastic game! They deserve at least that much I think. Most games don't have this many caring fans 6 years later...

6 years of entertainment for minimal amount of money, the same money I could have easily spent in 2 days in our local amusement park. Certainly many people got bored by the game after so many years but considering how much entertainment you got out of it during the years you played, there's no room for complainment.

Sadly many complaints are really "thanks I had a great time, but after 5-6 years I'm bored, do something about it!". We just have to accept that all good things eventually comes to an end. But when one thing ends, another will start, and in 5-6 years from now the circle is complete when we discuss this in GW2 guru

Thanks anet, for giving me some of the best memories that I've ever had the pleasure to experience, the friendships that I've made throughout the years and a few that have lasted a lifetime, thanks for giving me the opportunity to spend countless hours/money on this game, even banning me, and having me pay another 75+ dollars to get my game back on. Thanks for the all fun, and continuous game updates, loving every second of this game, even 5 years later.

Thanks, the wife and I have enjoyed this game for over 6 Years. Yes we got the game the day it was released and I even had her drive 60 miles to get factions when it came out. God I love that women!

I was actually thinking today (while doing dunes HM) how much i would miss some of the music when GW2 comes out.
Almost six years playing and i haven't got bored. Getting my second GWAMM while i'm waiting
As much as i'm waiting for GW2, it'll be a sad day when those GW servers are taken down.
Thank you ANET

I think many people who complain, see the great potential of GW, but are concerned of ANets ignorance in this regard. GW offers so much, yet ANet does so little to turn it into gold. For some people the saying "Hate the creator, love the creation." is very relevant to GW and ANet based on years of experience.

However, I also see some people are very forgiving like Shoyon - sorry if I don't write your name correctly, which is a good foundation for the future of GW1 (and GW2).

agree,

getting bored with all the guys complaining about something has to change. and then when it happens they all QQ about it not being gud enough.

For some reason everyone here still plays the game, so they have to be grateful to Anet, Atleast that's what I would say.

I have played rpg since the 80's and hands down this game I fell in love with the most.

Still love to play GW even after all these years. I am very thankful for anet.

have I been discouraged at times yes. But in this case the good out ways the bad for me.
That is why I still play.

I am sure not one is stupid enough to think that veterans of many years bemoaning aspects of the game implies they harbor deep seated ill will or negativity, none of us bother to invest one iota of time or energy in any endeavor we don't give a tinkers tuss about.

The fact of the matter is GW, in spite or whatever shortcomings it may posses, also happens to enshrine a great many things which grab our attention and keep us involved.

For some it is the story, or the combat or the charm, for other.... who knows? We all play for a myriad of reasons.

One thing I must state, is I admire the balls it takes to offer a game with no monthly fee, which for revenue raising has but a sparse set of "opt-in" purchasable items, and which nonetheless has managed to take it to the bigger players in the market and garner a large slice of the pie for itself.

Certainly it is good to see that even in its death throws, there are still updates, still small things on the horizon to keep us playing.

On balance, GW has been a raging success, I only hope that with all my reservations regarding aspects of GW2, that we can say as much: if in the final analysis GW2 surpasses our expectations and is a better game overall, we will all be very pleased indeed.

Props to all concerned over the years with creating, developing and supporting this game we all seem to invest far too much time in

I couldn't agree more.
Guildwars can never be 100% perfect. That would be boring. Even found a bug i have never had today, got over it and started something else. The games six years old and people still log in and still care and we will still care in years to come

This thread was necessary as a breather. A lot of "what ANet did recently to tick me off" threads lately.
With running the game with minimal interruptions and maintenances, 3 campaigns + 1 expansion, and unique events...it's pretty amazing.

We gripe about skill balancing, but for a game that's supported by 5 guys in a glorified closet in Bellevue (hope the lawyer up the street never finds out a profession of frog people are named after him); they are keeping it nice and fresh.

On a sappy story note, my dad had cancer until recently and couldn't go out much. GW was something that he, my mother, and I could still all go and do together.
Of course he's ready for a break LOL, but without a doubt the game helped distract them from their concerns for a few hours every day.

Thanks for making the best RPG to date (we expect big things in the sequel)

GW ftw.
Anet, good job keeping me busy (maybe a little too much :P ) for the past 5 years.

Considering how old this game is, it's great to see them still working on it
I never understood why people would complain about changes, but I guess they just have trouble adapting to new stuff.

Good thread ^^

This. It almost brought a tear to my eye knowing there're people out there that actually know this fact.

Thank you for the game, sequels, content, and all the support you've ever given us Arenanet. From the depths of my heart I say, "You guys are truly awesome!".
